South Beach Diet

Moblog, Random April 28th, 2008

I know some of my friends will scrunch up their nose when I tell them I am on the South Beach diet. I thought it would be really difficult but figured it’s only 2-3 weeks of no carbs and alcohol and I have to eat low fat food. I’ve just reached my threshold of indulging in food and is tired of no longer fitting my clothes. I mean seriously, I shouldn’t be shopping for new clothes because I can’t fit into my current ones or it becomes ill fitting. Funny thing is, the past four weeks haven’t been so difficult because I like my veggies and tofu. I’ve even converted back to drinking non-fat latte without sugar. Cooking for myself made it easier and I’m not anally strict about the diet.

From this experience, I learned that my body is just slow to process carbs. In the past four weeks, I feel lighter and energized. It felt like a nice cleansing feeling to jump start my diet. Now that I am on phase two where I can start eating carbs again, I’m more determine to increase my cardio training because keeping the carb portion down is far more difficult than eliminating all.
